Richton, MS- Week #67

Hey all of my favorite people! This week has been a crazy one! I hope y'all are enjoying the Olympics! Fun fact about the Olympics! My Momma told me that one of the participants Tori Bowie is from SANDHILL, MISSISSIPPI! I REPEAT! SANDHILL, MISSISSIPPI! How cool right? Anyways, I thought y'all really wanted to know that. Who knew that this little town would have a cute famous olympian years later? Sandhill is pretty great! (:

This week was pretty good! We finished up the rest of our snowball necklaces this week and gave them to the ladies at the nursing home and we gave them to all of the sisters in our Hattiesburg zone! It was really fun making them. The elders in our zone got cool blue ties and so the STL's wanted all of the sisters to have something too and so we made snowballs for everyone! It was awesome!

We had ZTM this week and I got to see some of the greatest people I know! Always good to see missionaries! We learned about the importance of writing in our journals (which I need to do better) and the importance of having companion studies. It was a great meeting and a needed one. (:

We also had exchanges this week with the STL's. I went with Sister Ali-Savory & Sister Greenhalgh. They are awesome! It was my first time in a trio..it was interesting that is for sure! I love both of those girls though. This was the first time Sister Durtschi and I were split up, it was kinda sad! We are attached to the hip and definitely best friends!! I LOVE her to death! (:

While they were on exchanges Sister Durtschi and Sister Kay saw one of our investigators mom (Jamie's mom) and Jamie had been in jail so we haven't been able to teach him. WELL! His mom told us that even though we haven't seen him, he was reading the Book Of Mormon on his own and was sharing what he had learned with her! Isn't that sooo cool? Since he has been in jail he has missed reading the Book Of Mormon and had asked his mom to send it to him, and she said she would!! It is soo cool! I know that by reading the Book Of Mormon it really does bring peace to our lives. It makes me so happy that jamie loves to read it! (:

On Friday, one of sister Durtschi's old companions came by to visit us! (Sister Frandsen) It was fun to see a missionary who just got home from her mission! The first thing she shows us was her.. drum roll...ENGAGEMENT RING! She will be marrying one of the elders from this mission at the end of December. Elder Hernandez and Sister Frandsen are super cute together. It was fun to see them reunite. Sister Frandsen asked Sister Durtschi to be her one of her bridesmaids!! Hahah it was way fun! (:

We went to see the Ishee's again this week. They are one of thee BEST families I have worked with on my mission. I love part member families, they are fun to teach! (: I will miss them so much when I get transferred,  they are amazing!

This morning we found out about transfers, and  I will be leaving Sandhill. I kinda have a lot of mixed emotions about it...I love this place it is definitely home to me! I hate saying goodbye, but we do it a lot as missionaries! It is something that we all have to do at some point or another. I will miss Sister Durtschi! Dang, I got soo lucky to have her as a comp. She has definitely taught me a lot and continues to teach me. She is definitely one of the best people I know. She will kill it here in Sandhill! We will party when we get home that is for sure! (: This may be my last stop before I come home. I know that the Lord will lead me to those that need me! I will keep y'all updated and let you know what happens and where I will go! I hope y'all have a blessed week! Thanks for your support that you constantly give me. It has been such a great experience so far! Also here is the address for letters and packages again if any of y'all were thinking of sending some this week! Thanks!!
