Wake Village, TX- Week #78

 Wake Village, Texas- Texarkana

Hey y'all!

I hope that everyone is doing well! I just wanted to personally say THANK YOU for every single one of you for supporting me in serving our Lord and Master, even Jesus Christ. It has been a crazy journey and experience that I know will be forever a huge part of my heart and in my life. I am sooo grateful to have been here in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. I have learned so much and I am STILL learning a ton. The Lord has shaped me and refined me in ways that I didn't know were possible. I LOVE HIM Y'ALL! I really, really do!

This week was an unusual week! Hahah we had our normal P-day, and working day on Tuesday, but on Wednesday we had a funeral for 2 missionaries that are going home tomorrow actually! (they really aren't dead, but it is missionary tradition to have funerals when one finishes their mission). It was pretty well done job! They did it based off the movie "clue" and we had to find the murderers of Elder Brown and Stanford! It was soo fun! My comp got framed! We all thought she was the killer but turns out it wasn't her! haha it was a really fun time!

Later that night we met a lady while tracting, her name is Esther! (yes like the bible esther!) How funny huh?! Well, she was just asking us SO many questions and we got to bear our testimonies and invite her to read the BOM and it was an amazing experience! Her husband was there for the lesson too and he asked us if he can get the BOM App on his phone, we said YES! It was amazing, he just checked out for the rest of that lesson, he just started reading it right then while we were there!! Isn't that soo cool?!? I thought it was awesome stuff! They invited us to come back the next day to teach them.

On Thursday, we went back and taught them again, and they weren't as receptive because they had a friend from their local church there! :/ THAT WAS SUCH A DOWNER! I really don't like it when that happens! Whelp, we are going to "keep on keeping on" as the lovely southerns would say! hahah I really do believe they will open up! It will be better this next go around! (:

The rest of the week wasn't that great..Sister Steadman was sick :( I felt so bad!! I was trying to help her out! Poor thing, well, this next week will be better!

Well, this is the last week of the transfer, and you know what that means right? Yup! I will be getting transferred for my very LAST transfer! I got to say i was very shocked! I had prepared myself to stay here in Wake Village, but I guess the Lord had other plans. I have prayed and I KNOW that this is where I should be. I know that wherever I go this next transfer is right where the Lord wants me. I know that everything will " Work out for good". I love y'all! Have a blessed week!

Dear Mom,

Oh how I miss you! I was reading through your email and I was just loving all of it! I was looking at the pictures first this time before I read your newsletter and I couldn't tell the twins apart!! I literally couldn't tell them apart! It was the wierdest thing, I guess it has been a really long time since I have seen those kids, I love them sooo much!!!

So, I have some news..and a bit of surprising news! I have been asked to be transferred for my last 5 weeks of the mission! President Olson called me on Sunday about my new assignment, and I have to keep it on the DL until he gives me permission to tell people about it. He told me some of the things that I would be asked to do and I was in SHOCK! I cannot wait to tell you about it! I know that this is what the Lord wants me to do right now, and that this is the place he wants me to be. ( Yes I know where I am going and what I am doing). I can't wait! I hope that y'all have a great week! SOrry, I have neglected y'all with no pictures lately..my picture converter broke and we have not had time to upload them but I have many pictures to send today! I am excited for you to see them! Anyways, we are headed to Shreveport,LA to drop me off after we finish emailing here..it is so crazy. I thought I would finish my mission here in Texarkana, the news was shocking but as I prayed and counseled with the Lord about it, I felt peace and comfort. I know that the Lord has great trust in me and expectations for me to meet. I am excited! I love y'all! I know that the Lord is in all things.

As far as I am aware, It is elections this week, and my mission president shared a scripture and a thought with me that brought me a lot of peace and comfort, I think that this can help y'all and maybe bring peace to you too! he said
No matter who rules or what happens, remember that "all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God." D&C 101:16. Let us be positive, cheerful and obedient, and He will provide for us all that He sees is best for us.
I know that this is true! ALL flesh is in his hands, he knows what is going on all around us. I trust in Him, he knows best. It will be hard and a scary road that we will face but I truly do believe that God is in control. Anyways, these were the thoughts that I have this week, I will send y'all pictures! I LOVE YOU MOM!!! I LOVE YOU BOYS!! I LOVE YOU DADDY! Y'all are amazing, I cannot wait to see you in 5 weeks, it will be here before we all know it! I look forward to it! Thanks for being such a big support and strength these past 17 months..It means the world to me!

Love always,
Sister Scott
