Florence, MS- Week #81

This says Jesus in Greek

Good Morning everybody! I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving and a great week! Miraculously we were able to have a member from the Madison Ward feed us. We were truly blessed!

This week has gone by pretty fast to say the least..and it is only going to go by even faster! I am so grateful to be a missionary! I love it! I am going to soak up the next couple weeks that I have left before I see y'all again!

Monday: We had our P-day! We went to email in the morning, and then we went shopping around town! There are a lot of Boutiques in Florence and so we have been sneaking through to check out all of the new stuff they have out for Christmas! It was pretty fun! That night we saw Sister Stringer ( from the Florence Ward)  and had dinner with her at McCallister's Deli! Oh man y'all, it was SO GOOD! I love that place! She was a return missionary about 45 years ago. She told us some of her mission stories that she remembers. She said that going on a mission was the best decision that she has ever made in her life and she is STILL receiving blessings from her service! I thought that was so cool! I can't wait to tell some of the stories that I have and still receive even more blessings as I live worthy of them!

Tuesday: We had a meeting with President Olson in the morning to clarify some of the things that he would like to get done before we finish our service here in the field! He told us that he would like us to do exchanges with the sisters in the zone, and also any other special exchanges that could possibly happen before the end of the transfer.

He also told us he would like to send Christmas cards to all of the missionaries in the mission. He wants us to improve the "Just serve website" and find more service opportunities throughout the mission! That is basically what I have done all week, was improve the Just serve website and find more service opportunities.

It is kinda a big task to start and so I decided I would make a spreadsheet on Excel of all of the zones in the mission, and wherever the service is located in the mission I would put them under the right zone with an address and a phone number they can contact the company! It is a lot of work and so that is what I have been doing all week long. It has been good!

Wednesday: We went to the office from 10-5 again. It was good! I was working on that Excel sheet and the Just serve website all day! Sister Edwards wasn't in the office today, and so I covered media all by myself today! We sent off 3 big packages today. It was fun! After we finished in the office we tried some potentials and went to wal-mart because we didn't have time to go on that day.

Thursday: Thanksgiving day! We tried some Less Actives in Jackson, and then we headed up to Madison, MS to see some of Sister Williams old investigators and members. They are all such wonderful people! We had dinner with Sister Davin. She was so sweet to feed us!

Friday: We were in the mission office all day and then I had an unexpected visitor come see me while I working! It was one of my dad's old neighbor when he was growing up and he actually served in this mission too! He was a pretty cool guy, I got to meet him and his sweet family! After work we saw the Bett's! They gave us their Thanksgiving leftovers, and then we saw Allen! (One of sister Williams old Recent Converts she worked with)  It was fun!

Saturday: We weekly planned because we didn't have time on Friday to do it. It was good! We also went out with the Clinton Sisters for the night! I got to see Sister Mellor again! I love that girl to pieces!

Sunday: We had church and went to visit some Less Actives in Jackson. We got to see a few people and it went well! Hopefully we can get them back!

Whelp, that was our week in a nutshell! It was busy, and we got a lot of work done. I love these southerns! I would legit do anything for them. Being a missionary is the best thing ever! If any of you are thinking about serving a mission I would recommend that you go. It is such a blessing in my life and you will learn so many incredible one- on- one lessons from the Lord. I love y'all so much! I hope you have a blessed week! (:

Dearest mom,

Things are getting better over here! We had a come to Jesus moment on Thursday and things are getting better. Man, sounds like y'all have had a crazy week! Dang, has Ayden beaten my record yet? Hahah also, I feel like I should be in the clear as far as NOT having a single ticket on my mission, or driving like a maniac anymore! Can I get an award? Like maybe a medal or something? hahah I am just kidding, but my driving is for reals way better! It was by the grace of God, I am sure! and poor Hunter! Man, that is too bad! :( I will pray for him and his family! That looks like it hurts! I have also been praying for the Giacalone's..:/ Is Elder Giacalone home now? Is he going back? That just makes me soo sad!

This week has been pretty good over here. I love what I do it is soo fun! I really really have a hard time believing that I am going home here in a couple weeks! It seems so crazy to me! I am excited and nervous, but I know that it is all for the Lord! This past week I have decided to just take control over some of the tasks that we were doing. This week I was able to call many universities all throughout the mission and I also made a spreadsheet on Excel full of service opportunities, and I added addresses, and phone numbers. I also put then in order according to the zones in the mission. Each zone will be able to have several places to try for service. I looked up soup kitchens, Salvation Army's, Red Crosses, non profit companies ect. It was an all week event and I am not even close to being done with it. There is so much more I want to do.

I also told Sister Williams that I would like to line everyone up for the Zone Conference pictures in December while She takes the pictures. I am making strides. I am including myself in the work. I hope that President Olson will see that we are both working hard. I could really care less about who gets the credit of things. I just want to serve! Anyways, that is a little update about me.

I am excited to see you soon! It will be amazing! I can't wait! I pray that y'all will get here safely. I can't wait to see you. I still pray for y'all daily. I hope Logan had a great Thanksgiving too. I have been praying about him as well. I love you! I will see you very soon!

Love,
Sister Scott
