McKennah told us she wouldn't be flying out until Tuesday morning. So I was a little startled when I woke up to 2 missed calls on my phone! Some kind people at the airport let McKennah and her companion borrow their phones to call home. I missed a couple of her calls. A blessing in disguise- as I have listened to her voicemail numerous times. I did call her back and we were able to talk with her for a good 10 min. It was short, it was sweet, and she sounded like she had aged 20 yrs!!!

Hey there Momma and family! As of right now I am typing on a computer in MISSISSIPPI! I love it here! My first companion is Sister Kendall and I love her already! When I met her, I just knew we would be companions!! My first area is in Hattiesburg, and they say it is the most successful area so far! I already have 3 appointments with investigators tonight....super nervous. But I know that it is what I should be doing! I will be sending pictures and emailing back and forth with people between 2-5; so just be on the lookout! I love you! Hearing everyones voices was so sweet! That's funny I sound old. HAHA Ya'll sound the same to me! Thanks for all the support!
And the BEST surprise EVER!!! My sister in law, Tina's- sister in law Debi....who is from Mississippi. Has a sister living in Hattiesburg. Whose husband is the BISHOP of a Hattiesburg Ward. It's a small, beautiful world! Rests a mother's heart!!! Communication travelled fast....
Later in her P-day after notifying her we had a connection with someone in Hattiesburg, I received this letter!
MOMMMMMMMMMYYYYYY! He is the bishop of our ward!! He wants to make a dinner appointment with us sometime. He actually called us like an hour ago to talk to me briefly. It caught my companion off guard when he called, she usually doesn't receive phone calls very often from him. Anyways, just arrived in Hattiesburg. It is beautiful! I can't believe I am here. We just talked the whole way, no music was needed! HAHA. Well I am doing awesome. Super tired, but it is worth every minute! I have such a great desire to be successful and change to be a better member and missionary. I just want to be an all around good person. I feel like I was a good person at home, however, I could be SO MUCH BETTER. There is never enough room to grow. I have so much on my mind and I wish I could share with you every detail. I haven't even started my group email and I need to get on that! Love you mommy, I miss you terribly, but I couldn't be doing anything better. Why is it just you emailing? Tell those boys to get on it! AND DAD! Freak...you're not the only one I miss. I love you, I love you, I love you! Hope all is well!
